Abstract

Translation presents a myriad of challenges and complexities that arise in the process of transferring meaning from one language to another. This abstract explores the fundamental problems encountered in translation, delving into linguistic, cultural, and contextual dimensions. These problems include linguistic and semantic differences, cultural nuances, equivalence and loss, sensitivity and appropriateness, localization and adaptation, changing language and cultural landscapes, and historical/geographical references. Understanding and addressing these challenges are crucial for skilled translators to produce accurate and culturally sensitive translations. Through research, collaboration, and continuous professional development, translators can navigate these problems to facilitate effective cross-cultural communication, foster mutual understanding, and bridge linguistic barriers in an increasingly interconnected world.
