FOLKLORE AND MYTHOLOGICAL MOTIFS IN THE PROSE OF CH. AITMATOV

This article examines the use of folklore and mythological motifs in the prose of Chingiz Aitmatov. Aitmatov, a renowned Kyrgyz writer, skillfully incorporates elements of folklore and mythology into his narratives, drawing on archetypes, rituals, symbolic imagery, and intertextuality. Through these motifs, Aitmatov explores universal themes while celebrating the cultural heritage of the Kyrgyz people. This article analyzes the narrative structure, moral dilemmas, interplay of realism and fantasy, cultural critique, and intertextuality in Aitmatov's works, highlighting the profound insights and captivating storytelling that arise from his use of folklore and mythological motifs.
