This article explores the state of Uzbek-language press bodies and media in Afghanistan during the second half of the 20th century and early 21st century, with regard to the Afghan government. Also, the importance of Uzbek-language newspapers, magazines, television and radio broadcasts in the socio-cultural life of Afghan Uzbeks, their efforts to preserve the Uzbek language as an important condition for maintaining their identity in Afghan Uzbeks in a complex ethnolinguistic situation in the country have been historically analyzed.
