MIXED METAPHOR IN ENGLUSH AS A LINGUO-COGNITIVE PHENOMENON

The article analyzes the mixed metaphor and its metaphor subspecies in the context of the insufficiently studied space of cognitive antimimetics, which is the scientific novelty of the study. The purpose of this work is to study the cognitive and pragmatic functioning of a mixed metaphor in anti-memes in English in modern online communication. The results of the study showed that the generation of a mixed metaphor in the anti-meme mainly occurs due to the process of metaphorical projection between the source and target domains.
