This scientific article delves into the intricate task of translating the mental states of characters in the works of German playwright and author Wolfgang Borchert. Through an extensive examination of Borchert's literary techniques and the inherent challenges of translating mental states, this research aims to shed light on the complexities of transferring the nuanced emotions and psychological conditions of characters from one language to another. The study employs various theoretical frameworks for analysis and evaluates potential solutions to the problems encountered in reproducing these mental states during the translation process.
